MINTERA JOINS ROAD TO 100G ALLIANCE
Company Contributes High Bit-Rate Optical Transport Experience to Group
Acton, MA - December 4, 2007 - Mintera® Corporation, the high bit-rate optical
transport systems solution leader, today announced that the company has joined the
Road to 100G Alliance. The Road to 100G Alliance was founded earlier this year by
market leaders in key networking technology segments which are critical to delivering
standards-compliant solutions that address a wide range of ultra-high bandwidth
applications and system configurations.
“We welcome Mintera to the Road to 100G Alliance. Their experience in
commercializing innovative and differentiated products based upon industry standards
including the 300-pin 40 Gbps MSA form factor and the emerging ATCA300 industry
standard, will be instrumental as we work to accelerate the adoption and ongoing
development of a new era of next-generation networking platforms,” said Bill Weisinger,
president and chairman Road to 100G Alliance.
Mintera develops and markets high bit-rate fiber-optic transport sub-systems for metrocore,
regional, long-haul and ultra long-haul optical networks. Its unique, patent-pending
Adaptive-Differential Phase Shift Keying (ADPSK™) technology enables optimal
transmission of high bit-rate signals across ROADM-enabled optical networks, a
configuration commonly used in long haul and metro infrastructures. ADPSK reduces
signal degradation caused by interference between channels, and it provides “spectral
efficiency” that allows wavelengths to be packed closer together to carry more data over
longer distances. This approach allows service providers to maximize their network
capacities. Mintera’s proven, proprietary technology offers a solid basis for the
development of 100 Gbps solutions.
“Since its inception, Mintera has been driving the industry’s migration to higher bit-rates
for optical transport with 40 Gbps products shipping today and 100 Gbps in the pipeline,”
said Terry Unter, Mintera CEO. “We look forward to collaborating with other leaders in
our industry to make 100 Gbps an economic as well as technical reality.”
About the Road to 100G Alliance
The Road to 100G Alliance is a global community of leading innovative silicon, software
and equipment vendors, along with service providers, dedicated to accelerating the
adoption and ongoing development of a new era of next generation networking platforms.
The Alliance is a nonprofit corporation formed by its members for the purpose of
providing seamless interoperability among the disparate components required in building
high capacity network elements. More information regarding the Road to 100G Alliance
